Nachdem Lorenz die Firma zu einem leistungsfähigen Werk ausgebaut hatte, verkaufte er 1889 das Unternehmen für fünf Millionen Mark, das daraufhin in eine Aktiengesellschaft mit dem Namen Deutsche Metallpa­tronenfabrik Karlsruhe umgewandelt wurde.<br /> <br /> Unter Vereinigung mit der Waffenfabrik Martinikenfelde erfolgte am 1.
