In der ersten Hälfte der 1950er-Jahre kam es zum Erwerb mehrerer Grundstücke (Karl-Friedrich-Straße 3, Kaiserstraße 74 und &lt;lex id=&quot;top-3043&quot;&gt;Zirkel&lt;/lex&gt; 21). Zwei Jahre vor ihrem 100-jährigen Jubiläum eröffnete die Volksbank Karlsruhe 1956 ihren von &lt;lex id=&quot;bio-0227&quot;&gt;Erich Schelling&lt;/lex&gt; geplanten Neubau an der Ecke Karl-Friedrich-Straße/Kaiserstraße. 1970 erfolgte die Fusion mit der Karlsruher Viehmarktbank. Jahrhunderts stieg die Zahl der Mitglieder von 2.275 im Jahr 1949 über 21.000 im Jahr 1982 auf mehr als 37.000 Ende 1998. 1985 erfolgte die Gründung der Tochtergesellschaft GaM (Grundstücksverwaltungsgesellschaft Am Marktplatz mbH).
