Benannt wurde sie 1938 nach dem Komponisten Albert Lortzing (23. Oktober 1801 - 21. Januar 1851), der unter anderem die komische Oper Zar und Zimmermann schuf. Vorher hieß die Straße Bachstraße.<br /> <br /> Unter Denkmalschutz steht ein 1936 erbautes Haus in der Lortzingstraße 16. Es ist ein zweigeschossiges verputztes Einfamilienwohnhaus und Teil eines Doppelhauses mit Halbwalm, Terrasse, Garten und Garage.
